PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic information providing service and a traffic information display device for reducing the update frequency of traffic information, and securing the precision of the traffic information to be provided. SOLUTION: A traffic information precision deciding means 105 compares the past traffic information stored in a storage means 104 with a traveling history, and whether or not the difference is extremely large is judged. When the difference is extremely large, and not less than the decision threshold of the deterioration of traffic information precision, a traffic information display device 101 requests the traffic information from a traffic information service center 108, and acquires new traffic information.
