PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic method and a diagnostic system capable of comprehensively diagnosing an oscillation or noise measuring function of an A/T (automatic transmission) inspection device. SOLUTION: In the diagnostic method, the oscillation or noise measuring function of the A/T inspection device 7, having both a sensor part 71 for collecting oscillations or noise generated from an object to be measured 80 and outputting it as a collection signal D1 and an operation part 72 for arithmetically processing the collection signal D1 and outputting an output signal D2, is diagnosed. Both a sensor part diagnostic step for making the sensor part 71 collect a pseudo signal, branching and collecting the same signal as the collection signal D1 transmitted to the operation part 72 as a sensor raw signal D0, comparing the sensor raw signal D0 with a sensor raw signal logic value, and judging whether the sensor raw signal D0 is normal or not and an operation part diagnostic step for collecting an output signal D2 outputted from the operation part 72, comparing the output signal D2 with an output signal logic value, and determining whether the output signal D2 is normal or not are performed.
