PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a carrier for a stairway for going up and down steps of stairs or the like with a cargo loaded on it, it is difficult to turn around the carrier during traveling on the level ground as conventionally two wheels in each side or four wheels in total are in contact with the ground. SOLUTION: A lock mechanism easily locking the rotation of an axle of the wheel of the carrier is provided, for example, to engage a gear provided on the axle with a claw-shaped hook provided on a frame body. Accordingly, the carrier can be easily tilted, the only two wheels on the same straight line are brought into contact with the ground, and the carrier can be easily turned around.
