<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system capable of dealing with wavelength fluctuation on the transmitting side. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmission system is equipped with a plurality of optical transmitters for outputting signal beams and an optical multiplexer for adding together the signal beams from the optical transmitters for sending to one or more optical transmission lines. Each optical transmitter includes a light source, a band pass filter for passing light from the light source, a beam splitting means for splitting the light passed through the band pass filter into at least two split beams, a photo-detector for converting one of split beams into an electric signal with a level corresponding to its intensity, and a control means for receiving the electric signal and controlling a wavelength of the light source to fix the intensity of the split beam, and the other split beam is sent as a signal beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
