<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a stack gas denitrification catalyst having a high denitrification activity and being able to inhibit SO<SB>2</SB>oxidation as a side reaction and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The stack gas denitrification catalyst comprises TiO<SB>2</SB>, WO<SB>3</SB>, and V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>and is characterized in that V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>is carried by a carrier containing TiO<SB>2</SB>and WO<SB>3</SB>in the surface layer underlying the surface of the catalyst to a depth of 200 μm, the amount of the V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>carried is 0.4 to 5 wt.% at the surface layer and is 0.1 to 0.9 wt.% in the entire catalyst, and the crystallite diameter of the carried V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>is below 10 nm as measured by X-ray diffractometry. The method for producing the catalyst comprises the step of extruding a mixture containing TiO<SB>2</SB>and WO<SB>3</SB>and the step of allowing the surface of the molding to carry V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>by a gas phase process or comprises the step of allowing a powder of a mixture containing TiO<SB>2</SB>and WO<SB>3</SB>to carry V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>by a gas phase and the step of allowing the surface of the molding to carry the powder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
