PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane prepolymer, a polyurethane composition, and a polyurethane coating composition, more excellent in weather resistance than a conventional one and showing good extensibility; and a method for producing the polyurethane prepolymer in an enhanced productivity. SOLUTION: The polyurethane prepolymer is isocyanate-terminated and prepared by reacting at least one diisocyanate selected from among aliphatic diisocyanates and alicyclic diisocyanates with at least one polycaprolactone polyol selected from among polycaprolactone diols and polycaprolactone triols and having a number average mol.wt. of 500-1,500 and a caprolactone dimer content of 0.25 mass% or lower.
