PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the life of a device for preventing diffusion of contamination in water. SOLUTION: In the device for preventing diffusion of contamination in water, a joint means 8 for connecting between opposed portions 7, 7 of the adjacent diffusion preventive films 6, is formed of projecting pieces 19 projecting outward from each of the opposed portions 7, 7, a bearing piece 20 arranged astride the front and rear projecting pieces 19, 19, and a pair of right and left shackles 23, 23 each having a bolt 28 penetrated in first through holes 21, 21 formed in the front or rear projecting pieces 19, 19, and second through holes 22, 22 formed in a right or left end of the bearing piece 20 to have one ends 9 of rope bodies 12 connected thereto. If one of the shackles 23 is separate from the diffusion preventing film 6 in a lateral direction, the bolt 28 of each shackle 23 is press-fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the second through hole 22, and the bolt 28 of the other shackle 23 is press-fitted to an inner peripheral surface of both the first through holes 21, to thereby prevent further separation of the shackle and the diffusion preventing film 6 from each other.
