PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system printing a pattern with low level of distortion on an unbacked fabric. SOLUTION: The unbacked transport and condition regulating system for printing a pattern on a fabric (114) is provided with a winding subsystem (110) that rotates a roll (112) of the fabric, a fabric characterization and tension control subsystem (130a, 130b) for collecting variations in the behavior of the fabric, and printing subsystem (250) configured for depositing ink in a pattern on the fabric.
