<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized and simple structure having only one ultrasonic or radio wave receiver on a receiving part at the low cost whereby collision with an object in front can be predicted. <P>SOLUTION: A probing wave of the ultrasonic or radio wave is outputted from a transmitting part 4 of a collision predicting sensor 7 to the front of an own vehicle, and a reflected wave of the object 6 in front varying from a frequency of the probing wave in correspondence with a relative speed is received by the receiving part 5 having one receiver 5r of the collision detecting sensor 7. At that time, the frequency of the probing wave is varied by a transmission control means so that the reflected wave at the relative speed within a set collision predicting range is within a receiving frequency range of the receiver 5r, and a collision predicting signal S is formed by receiving the reflected wave of the receiving part 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
