PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate surface processing liquid, such as a neutralization stabilizing liquid or an etching liquid applied after the development processing of a lithographic printing plate by a silver complex salt diffusion transfer process, in which the plate wear of silver image is enhanced and, at the same time, an ink transfer point is improved. SOLUTION: In the plate surface processing liquid to be used after the development processing of the lithographic printing plate using with the silver complex salt diffusion transfer process, this liquid includes an organic compound having at least two mercapto groups or thione groups and a silver halide solvent.
