PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical grating mount that is capable of fine adjusting a diffraction grating in a device and maintains alignment over the operational temperature range. SOLUTION: A device and a method are applied for fine adjusting a diffraction grating in an optical wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) device, and maintaining the diffraction grating at a near-Littrow alignment (or at an accuracy of±0.003°) over the operational temperature range of the device. The accurate alignment is maintained by eliminating an angular shift of the grating at general operational temperatures by use of "Super Invar" materials of 0.3 PPM/°C for a wedge-shaped grating mount. The wedge-shaped grating mount and thereby the direction of the surface of the grating are accurately adjusted by the dual flexure structure and maintained in position over the operational temperature range. In this flexure structure, the desired orientation and solid structure are attained by tightening four fine adjustment screws with jewels on their tips, and slippage is avoided by locking these screws by locking nuts.
