PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle which advises a user of whether or not temperatures detected by non-contact temperature sensors 71, 72 are normal. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for a vehicle includes non-contact temperature sensors 71, 72, which detect the temperature within driver seat side and a passenger seat side air conditioning zones in a non-contact manner, and an air conditioning unit 1 for controlling air state within a vehicle interior based on the temperature detected by the non-contact temperature sensors 71, 72. An air conditioner ECU 10 makes a judgment on whether or not the temperature detected by the non-contact temperature sensors 71, 72 is abnormal. The passenger is advised of the result of judgment through lighting of light emitting diodes 81, 82. Thus, the user can be advised of whether or not the temperature detected by the non-contact temperature sensors 71, 72 is normal. As a result, an obstacle to the temperature detection with the non-contact temperature sensors 71, 72 can be removed to conduct normal air conditioning, or the passenger can be advised of that the air conditioner is normally operated, whereby the sense of security can be provided.
