PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method which make the processing of an image end part easy to perform accurately without detecting its position. SOLUTION: In the image processor constituted of a parameter calculation means for calculating the inherent parameters for a plurality of areas having respectively different sizes in order to calculate the isolation quantity of pixel values from an input signal, an isolation quantity calculation means for calculating the isolation quantity of respective pixel values in each of the areas on the basis of each parameter, an integration means for integrating the calculated isolation quantity in a prescribed area, and an extraction means for extracting an image part having an attribute from size relation between the integrated isolation quantity and a prescribed set value to extract image parts having respectively different attributes from the image, processing contents are switched in accordance with positions in the image by inputting positional information to an attribute signal to be added to each input signal. The image processing method allows positional information or a coefficient to be used for prescribed image processing to be included only in an input image attribute signal in the image processor for extracting image parts having respectively different attributes from the image.
