PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a moving picture with a plurality of pictures by a display system which uses a plurality of display devices and displays an image signal from an image signal generating device. SOLUTION: In an image number generating device 101, two independent image signal output devices 102 and 103 are provided and output image signals 104 and 105 with indexes added respectively. Display devices 106, 107, and 108 update display pictures when receiving the image signal 104 to which the same indexes as indexes set to the devices are added. Display devices 109, 110, and 111 update display pictures when receiving the image signal 105 to which the same indexes as indexes set to themselves are added. One of the display devices 106, 107, and 108 occupies the image signal 104 and one of the display devices 109, 110, and 111 occupies the image signal 105, thereby displaying a moving picture with two pictures.
