Endoscope has a flexible image conveyer (2) that is enclosed in a surrounding tube (3). The latter ends in the ocular mounting before the proximal attachment of the image conveyer. The image conveyer has at least an equalization section (14) with a shape that is different from the remainder of the longitudinal section. The probe tube is fixed to the ocular mounting (11) prior to the equalization section.
