<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve two functions as an illumination lamp and an indication lamp on one light source by combining a luminous material to an illumination lamp, and utilizing excitation light from the luminous material, allowing energy saving and making a illumination lamp multi-functional. <P>SOLUTION: The bifunctional lamp has a light source having a sleeve along the longitudinal direction of a xenon lamp or metal-halide lamp and a luminous material which covers a part or whole periphery of the sleeve.
