PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check an opened or closed state of a door easily only by a locking device. SOLUTION: In the locking device 1, a locking/unlocking section 13 is made to project from a housing section 14 by pressing a button section 12, and the locking/unlocking section 13 is fitted into a lock of the door so that an energized state on the side of the door is established. When locking is carried out in this state, since a signal indicating a locked state of the door is received from the side of the door via the locking/unlocking section 13, the projecting locking/unlocking section 13 is housed in the housing section 14 by the drive section 15. When the locking is carried out inadequately or is not carried out, since the signal indicating an unlocked state of the door is received from the side of the door via the locking/unlocking section 13, the projecting state of the locking/unlocking section 13 is maintained.
