<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem in which an electrically conductive roller comprising a metal support member, an electrically conductive elastic layer formed on the circumferential surface of the support member, and one or more surface layers formed on its circumferential surface is hard to provide an image of high picture quality since a contact trace is left on the electrically conductive roller when the electrically conductive roller is pressed and fixed while other members are pressed for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The electrically conductive roller comprising the metal support member, the electrically conductive elastic layer formed on the outer peripheral surface of the support member, and one or more surface layers formed on its outer peripheral surface has ≤3 μm strain generated on its electrically conductive surface after being left for 28 days in environment of 40°C and 95%RH while a blade of 150 μm in thickness is pressed against the electrically conductive roller surface with 40g/cm linear pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
