PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set with a television broadcasting receiving function for displaying a television image on an indicator long sideways so as to make the image turn in a normally vertical direction regardless of the way of bringing down the a portable telephone set main body when the portable telephone set main body is placed sideways in a television program viewing mode. SOLUTION: This portable telephone set with a television broadcasting receiving function is provided with: a direction detecting means for detecting whether the direction of the indicator is in a first sideways state or in a second sideways state obtained by turning the indicator in the first sideways state by 180°in a television mode; and a video turning processing means for applying turning processing to a television image and then supplying the television image to the indicator so as to display the television image suitable for the direction of the indicator detected by the direction detecting means on the indicator.
