PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper base package cushioning configuration of which the impact absorbing performance is sufficient, and which surely protects a packaged article when a large impact is applied. SOLUTION: Liner parts 8 of honeycomb boards 6 and 7 which are constituted into a layered shape are superposed and contact-bonded on a front or rear liner part in a corrugated board box 4 constituted of the front liner 1, the rear liner 2 and a corrugating medium 3. At least a section of the layered shape honeycomb boards 6 and 7 is divided into a large number, and are arranged by placing a clearance spacing by a specified interval to form a cushioning configuration for packaging. Thus, this paper base package cushioning configuration which further increases impact absorbing characteristics for corners or in the ridge directions at the time of a free fall when the packaged article is handled as cargo is obtained.
