PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of outstandingly miniaturizing, particularly making an air conditioning unit storing a heat absorption heat exchanger and a heat releasing heat exchanger in an air passage thinner, sufficiently exhibiting required heat exchange performance and also accomplishing low noises and particularly optimum as a construction machine. SOLUTION: The air conditioner for the vehicle is provided with an air conditioning unit having the air passage approximately horizontally extending against the vehicle. In the air conditioner for the vehicle, the heat absorption heat exchanger and the heat releasing heat exchanger are arranged in the air passage in the order in an air flow direction and a desired blown air temperature is obtained by adjusting a flow rate ratio of the air by-passing or passing through the heat releasing heat exchanger against the whole amount of air after passing through the heat absorption heat exchanger by an air mix door. The heat absorption heat exchanger is inclined/arranged within a range of an angle of 15-30°against the extending direction of the air passage and the heat releasing heat exchanger is also inclined/arranged in the same direction.
