PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rice cooker which is more safe by surely detecting the abnormality of a heating means and informing a user of the abnormality. SOLUTION: When detected current detected by a current detection means when the heating means is turned on by a control circuit in a period until starting rice cooking after supplying power is not higher than a prescribed value (when caused by disconnection), abnormality is judged, and abnormality information is carried out based on the judgment.
