The device has a node capacitance memory (KKD2) for storing parameters, a processing unit (AWE2) for analyzing network node requests and selecting a node using the analysis results and the stored parameters and an input/output unit (EAE2) for receiving network node requests and outputting a node identification for a node for which a request has been allocated. Independent claims are also included for the following: network nodes, a configuration database, a method of selecting a network node in a cellular communications network, a method of controlling a network node and software for selecting cellular communications network nodes.
