PURPOSE: A thin direct backlight module is provided to dispose an LCD panel and light sources in a short distance for reducing the thickness of a display system. CONSTITUTION: A thin direct backlight module includes a plurality of light sources such as CCFL(Cold Cathode Flourescent Lamp;310) positioned under an LCD panel(330). Partial transmitting plates(340) are disposed on the respective light sources for transmitting light partially. Light guide panels(320) in the slab shape are disposed between the light sources in parallel. A reflection plate(350) is disposed under the light sources for reflecting light from the light sources. The reflection plate is in contact or not in contact with the light guide panel.
