PURPOSE: An ATM switch for W-CDMA(Wide-Code Division Multiple Access) is provided to be configured into two kinds of boards such as a WSFA(W-CDMA ATM Switch Fabric Assembly) and a WLIA(W-CDMA Link Interface Assembly), thereby reducing the number of boards mounted on a rack while using a space of the rack. CONSTITUTION: A WSFA board(100) comprises as follows. A UNI(User Network Interface) is used for an LVDS(Low Voltage Differential Signaling) signal interface from a WLIA board. A traffic manager(120) performs a header translation for input/output ATM cells and a traffic management process. An ATM switch(130) carries out a path switching process for the input ATM cell. A clock generator(140) supplies a synchronous clock necessary for each functional block. A peripheral device signal controller(150) is used for executing an address decoding function. A PCU(Peripheral Control Unit)(160) controls each unit and an entire board.
