PURPOSE: A pointing device and a fingerprint input device are provided to enable a user to use a fingerprint input function, or to use as the pointing device while using a mouse, a mobile phone, or a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) with one hand. CONSTITUTION: A backlight placed under a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) fingerprint input device irradiates light to an upper part by penetrating the TFT fingerprint input device. A hemisphere forms a lens system. A gate controller(23) generates a gate signal controlling switch timing by being applied to a gate terminal of a switching TFT in a projecting light and the fingerprint input device. A sensor output part(25) outputs a single image signal by amplifying/multiplexing signals if a fingerprint image detected from a sensor TFT of the fingerprint input device is output. A backlight controller(24) adjusts a light intensity of the backlight and controls the turn-on/off. A mode controller(21) performs a fingerprint recognition mode or a pointing mode by controlling the gate controller and the backlight controller.
