[Class 126] A collapsable camp-stove is approximately triangular in plan, and two of its sides are formed by two metal sheets 16 hinged or bracketed together so as to enclose a chimney 4 and firebox between them. The metal sheets 16 act as screens for utensils resting on the hot-plate 7 above the firebox. A metal plate 3 with a hole 5 controlled by a slidable damper forms the third side of the chimney 4. A collapsable extension of the chimney may be formed by three plates hinged together, two of the plates being flanged at the bottom to engage and rest on the side plates 16. A flap 2 with variable air-supply openings is carried by a frame 1 at the front of the firebox. In one form a hot-closet, Fig. 5, is formed at one or each side. For this purpose, each plate 16 has a rectangular opening. A plate 12 is hinged to plates 11, 11A which are hinged to the side 16 above and below the opening. Side plates 10 are hinged vertically to the plate 16, and when perpendicular to the side, hold the plates 11, 11A, 12 in the extended position shown, but when pushed in allow them to collapse. A cover may rest on the sides 16, and a flap hinged to the front edge of the cover can be lowered to close the space over the hot-plate. The metal forming the sides 16 may be doubled and may enclose asbeatos or other heat-resisting material. The stove may rest on a sand-tray, which may accommodate the stove when it is dismantled.</p> |
