The method of production of a motor vehicle exhaust baffle using a deep drawing technique involves making a disc from fl;at stainless steel sheet (10). the disc is subjected to multiple pressing stages to reduce its diameter and increase its length to forma pot shape. A hole (14) is punched in the end face of the pot to define an annular wall (14). the sidewall is pierced (16) and the annular wall is folded over. Claims include a baffle made using the method.
