A writing pad which can easily be used by either left handed or right handed writers has a spiral binding (7) along the top edge for a flip over action and enabling the paper to be used on either side. The sheets are separated from the binding via a perforation line and are provided with filing holes along the left hand edge. The pad is used either way round for right and left handed writers and is provided with a stiff cover sheet (3) and a cardboard backing sheet(2).
