The motor vehicle seat has backrest inclination adjustment fittings (1) which are adjustable and fixed by a swashplate gear, the drive of which is through drivers (17) which have a recess with a profiled circumference in which fit the ends of a transmission tube with positive locking so that torque applied through a drive component of the transmission tube is transferred from one adjustment fitting to another. The profiled circumference of the recess and the ends of the transmission tube have the shape of an unequal-sided polygon and may be trapezoidal.
