PURPOSE: A track jump method of an optical disk drive is provided to generate an RFZC(RF Zero Cross) signal from a TE(Tracking Error) signal when a track jump occurs to an unrecorded surface from a recorded surface, thereby realizing a stable track jump. CONSTITUTION: A top detector(11) detects a maximum peak value from an inputted TE signal. A bottom detector(13) detects a minimal peak value from the inputted TE signal. An RFZC signal generator(15) generates an RFZC signal by using the detected maximum peak value and the minimal peak value. If a track jump occurs to an unrecorded surface from a recorded surface, the TE signal and an RF signal are detected from a disk. The number of tracks to jump is calculated on the basis of a TZC(Tracking Zero Cross) signal. A direction of the track jump is determined on the basis of the generated RFZC signal by detecting the maximum/minimal peak values. A pickup is moved in the determined direction according to the calculated number of the tracks.
