IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always form images of an optimum density by adjusting a developing contrast potential and a background potential appropriately for the variance of an environment where a developer is placed.

SOLUTION: A CPU of an image forming apparatus calculates a saturation moisture content from temperature and relative humidity detected by an environment detection means and multiplies it by a square value of the relative humidity to obtain an environmental parameter value and sets an appropriate developing contrast potential in accordance with correlation approximate expression for the developing contrast potential which is preliminarily calculated by using the environmental parameter value.
