PURPOSE: An apparatus for settling a charge by using a code pattern, and a method thereof are provided to easily pay a charge by downloading a code pattern to a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A user terminal(10) transmits a request message for issuing a bar code to a provider server(30) to receive a bar code(60) having information related to the amount to be paid. The provider server(30) generates the bar code(60) corresponding to the request message for issuing a bar code to transmit the generated bar code(60) to the user terminal(10). A settlement processing apparatus(70) reads the bar code(60) displayed on a screen of the user terminal(10) to settle a charge.
