IN-SITU REMEDIATION APPARATUS FOR VOCs-CONTAMINATED SOIL BY USING MICROWAVE

PURPOSE: To selectively remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from contaminated soil by generating microwave inside contaminated zone, thereby saving cost required to soil excavation related to ex-situ treatment. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a suction pipe(4) having a suction hole and being inserted into a hole(3) formed in contaminated soil(2) at a fixed depth by using an auger machine; a microwave tip(6) placed inside the suction pipe at lower end; a device(5) installed on the ground to electrically be connected to the microwave tip; a cover(7) collecting VOCs discharged from the suction pipe; a tank(8) communicated with the cover through a pipe(9) to separate the VOCs gas from liquid containing oil; a gas filter(11) through which VOCs are removed; and an oil/water separator(13) which separates oil from liquid discharged from the tank through a pump(12).
