CATALYST FOR REMOVING PARTICLE SUBSTANCE IN EXHAUST GAS OF DIESEL ENGINE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PM (particulate matter) removing catalyst having sufficient catalytic activity in the combustion of PM though inexpensive iron oxide reduced in the fear of poisoning due to sulfur as compared with a platinum group catalyst is used.

SOLUTION: In the catalyst comprising hematite (α-Fe2O3) particles and used for removing the particle substance in an exhaust gas from diesel engine, the content of P in the hematite particles is 0.005 wt.% or below and the crystal size of the crystal face (104) of the hematite particles at the time of X-ray diffraction measurement using CuKα radiation is set to 150 Å or below.
