PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a cell-fixing substrate enabling the fixing of a cell at a specific position and provide the cell-fixing substrate. SOLUTION: The method for producing the cell-fixing substrate includes a laminate processing step which comprises irradiating a laminate produced by forming a hydrophilic polymer layer on the surface of a hydrophobic resin substrate with ultraviolet rays radiated from a light source through a pattern mask and thereby removing a chemical reaction product existing in the hydrophilic polymer layer part and the interface between the hydrophilic polymer layer part and the hydrophobic polymer substrate layer part comprising the hydrophobic resin substrate in the UV-irradiated area of the laminate corresponding to the pattern of the pattern mask, thereby exposing the hydrophobic surface originated from the hydrophobic resin substrate.
