PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic composition that has not a certain number of drawbacks, such as a heterogenous and relatively imprecise makeup result, but makes it possible to obtain an optimum lengthening effect of the eyelashes after application of the composition and is aesthetically acceptable in the case of dense and/or long and/or curved eyelashes, thus affords excellent cosmetic properties and a homogeneous and precise makeup result. SOLUTION: The cosmetic composition comprises rigid, substantially rectilinear fibers of a synthetic polymer in a physiologically acceptable medium, in which the polymer is selected from polyurethane, polyester, acrylic polymer, polyolefin, non-aromatic polyamide and aromatic polyimide-amides.
