PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ash melting furnace capable of inhibiting the increase of excess fuel expense to use an auxiliary heat source, and the equipment cost caused by the enlargement of an exhaust gas processing device to cope with the increase of exhaust gas, and accurately measuring a temperature of the molten slag. SOLUTION: A temperature measuring device 9 constantly measures an internal temperature of refractory on the basis of thermal electromotive force of two thermocouples 16a, 16b fitted and inserted in parallel in the thickness direction of the refractory forming a slag discharge chute 4, an operating device 10 calculates a temperature of the molten slag S flowing down on the slag discharge chute 4 on the basis of chute temperatures T1, T2 obtained by measuring the internal temperature of the refractory, and a mixture ratio of an air-fuel mixture of the saturated vapor and the air circulated in a buried pipe 6 buried in the slag discharge chute 4 and supplied from a vapor supply device 8 and an air supply device 7, is controlled to achieve a specific slag temperature by adjusting an opening of an adjustment valve 11.
