SYSTEM FOR ASSISTING SELECTION OF POWER TOOL

A decision is made whether a power tool is suitable for the work description for which that power tool is used, and if it is not suitable for the work description, a suitable power tool is selected and presented to a user. The power tool has a memory storing data concerning a work record. When the power tool is connected with an assist unit installed in a shop, the data concerning the work record is read out from the memory and the work description is estimated according to a program under execution in the assist unit. A decision is then made whether that power tool is suitable for the estimated work description or not. If the power tool is not suitable for the work description, a power tool suitable for that work is selected from a prestored database and presented to the user.
