PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for the fitting of bevels, to prevent the misregistration on the fitting of the bevels, to prevent the strain of positions by welding, and to attain the automation of the fitting of the bevels, in a bevel shape in butt welding, fillet welding or the like for two members, and a welding method therefor. SOLUTION: The tip part of the bevel of either pipe 4 is worked so as to have at least one projecting part 5, and the tip part of the bevel of the other pipe 3 is worked so as to have a recessed part 6 fitted with the projecting part 5. The projecting part 5 and the recessed part 6 are fitted, and thereafter, the two members are joined by welding so as to be a bevel shape. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
