<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve compactness, light weight, and low cost of a clutch unit changeable between a normal rotation direction lock state and a reverse rotation direction lock state for use. <P>SOLUTION: This clutch unit 1 is composed of an outer ring 2 to which normal rotation direction torque is inputted, an inner ring 3 to which the torque is outputted, a roller 4 disposed between the outer ring 2 and the inner ring 3, a retainer 5 to retain the roller 4, and a plurality of cam surfaces 13 to engage the roller 4 with the outer ring 2 and the inner ring 3 in normal and reverse rotation directions in a wedge-like way. Resiliency force of a resiliency member 6 is added to the retainer 5, the roller 4 is constantly energized in the normal rotation direction, and a shoe 17 is pressed to a slide surface 5b of the retainer 5 against the resiliency force, thereby the normal rotation direction lock state is changed into the reverse rotation direction lock state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
