PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide at low cost a display panel which can make a high-contrast display and has high reliability. SOLUTION: The display panel 3 is constituted by joining a solar battery panel 20 as a light-absorptive substrate to a 1st substrate where a light emission layer 12 having a light emitting element 13 is formed. When the display panel 3 is manufacture, the light-absorptive solar battery panel 20 is stuck and then the display panel 3 has a light-absorptive surface on the back of the light emission layer 12 without adding a process of manufacturing a light-absorptive layer, thereby preventing the yield from decreasing and the reliability from decreasing owing to an increase of manufacturing processes. Consequently, the display panel which can make a high-contrast display with small external light reflection and is highly reliable can be provided at low cost. Further, the solar battery panel 20 transduces external light and rear output of the light emitting element into electric power to be collected and then the display panel 3 has small power consumption.
