PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtration method of which continuous operation can be stably performed for a long time. SOLUTION: In the filtration method where a water cleaner 1 comprising a cell structure 2 having cell structure units 4 and a cap part is used, raw water is made to flow into cells 10 from the other end and filtered by partition walls 9 to obtain filtrate from the outer peripheral surface 8 side, a part of the raw water is made to flow into a prescribed space 13, and the ratio of the maximum value to the minimum value of a ratio of the volume of the filtrate permeating through the partition walls 9 to the volume of the raw water flowing into the cells 10 (water permeation rate) is adjusted to 110-300 %. The cells 10 located closer to the outer periphery 7 side of the cell structure are made to have a larger water permeation rate. The raw water that has flown into the prescribed space 13 is made to flow backward from the cells of the cell structure 2 having a large water permeation rate and the cells 10 located on the outer periphery 7 side to be filtered by the partition walls 9, and then the filtrate is obtained from the outer peripheral surface 8 side.
