PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner in which two cables of a cable for turning on a light source and a cable for image signal are arranged without causing the cables to interfere with each other and further without losing the weight balance of an image read means. SOLUTION: The two cables of the image signal cable 21 and light source turn-on cable 23 are arranged in an image scanner main body 1 across a guide shaft 4 and then both the cables can be arranged spatially at an interval, so they do not interfere with each other. Consequently, an image can be prevented from deteriorating owing to disorder of a signal level caused before by an electromagnetic field generated by a high-voltage cable which is the light source turn-on cable 23 as the high-voltage cable and image signal cable comes close to each other.
