BINDER COMPOSITION, REINFORCED FIBER SUBSTRATE, PREFORM, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder composition providing a fiber-reinforced composite material which is suitable for RTM (resin transfer molding) and is excellent in impact resistance, to provide a reinforced fiber substrate and a preform. SOLUTION: The binder composition contains 10-80 wt.% phenol aralkyl epoxy resin of formula (1) (wherein R1, R2, R3and R4are each hydrogen, a 1-8C alkyl group or a halogen; (m) is 1-4; and (n) represents an average value in the binder composition and is 0-4), has a glass transition temperature of 50-120°C and is used for manufacturing the preform of the fiber-reinforced composite material.
