<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery having a positive electrode that in high in active material utilization, high in energy density, superior in overcharge resistance, and long in life, and a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery in which nickel hydroxide is used as the main composition material for an active material layer of the positive electrode, is characterized in that the nickel hydroxide contains nickel hydroxide having an α type crystal structure, and at least aluminum and titanium are contained in eutectic or a solid solution condition in the crystal structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
