HALO-RESISTANT PHOTOIMAGEABLE COVERLAY COMPOSITION HAVING ADVANTAGEOUS APPLICATION AND REMOVAL PROPERTY, AND METHOD RELATING TO SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous processible, photoimageable and flexible coverlay composition which has advantageous adhesion and release properties and resistance against (unwanted) haloing.

SOLUTION: The coverlay composition contains an acrylic grafted copolymer binder component of low Tg having an alkali-resistant main chain segment and a pendant arm segment having a hydrophilic moiety. Optionally, the coverlay composition further contains a thiophene type adhesion promoter so as to further improve the adhesion properties.
