PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical diffusion plate for direct backlight made of aromatic polycarbonate resin having little luminance unevenness on the luminescent surface. SOLUTION: This photo-diffusing plate for direct backlight made of polycarbonate resin is a photo-diffusing plate made of a 0.3-3.0 mm thick poly carbonate resin containing a particulate photo-diffusing agent of a 1-50μm average particle size, and is characterized in that the luminance unevenness is 3% or less when the light is projected with a cold cathode fluorescent lamp so that the luminance is in the range of 5000 cd/m<SP>2</SP>- 6000 cd/m<SP>2</SP>.
