<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-channel acoustic apparatus, where a surround processing mode suitable for the combination of an input source and the kinds of the sound signals is automatically selected. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-channel audio apparatus comprises a sound signal processing apparatus for decoding and surround processing of the sound signal inputted from the selected input source; a surround mode setting table in which a surround mode suited for the combination is preset for each combination of the input source and the sound signal format; and a control means for controlling the sound signal processing apparatus so that a surround mode suited for the selected input source and the signal form of the sound signals inputted from the input source from the surround mode setting table, and surround processing according to an acquired surround mode can be made. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
