PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material and a dye compound useful for the sensitive material. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains at least one dye whose J associativeness varies according to a pH change, wherein "contains" means that the dye is added in any step of a manufacturing process for the silver halide photographic sensitive material to perform spectral sensitization.
